Welcome to the La Junta Basketball Official's website. Our association is located in La Junta, CO and we are Area 4 in Colorado and IAABO Board 4. Our officials came from all over the Arkansas Valley area. Currently, there are between 30-40 active officials in the association. The experience of the officials varies from being in their first year of officiating to 25-35+ years of experience on the court. Officials within the area and association call several levels of basketball; starting from middle school (7th & 8th), sub varsity (C/Frosh & JV), and high school. Our association has had officials officiate the state play offs and tournament as well. There are also several officials within the association that also officiate some local collegiate games.-
Our meetings start in November and happen weekly, Wednesday evenings at 6 PM, through December. In January and February meetings go to every other week. Our meeting locations are held at the high schools in La Junta and Rocky Ford depending on the month. In October, weekly meetings are held, Monday evenings at 6 PM at La Junta High School, for new officials to train and educate them on the rules and prepare them for the test given to officials to certify, or "patch", them.
